Former lead guitarist for Hostage, Doug branched out into doing sound for other bands. He has spent over 15 years working in the retail music industry, gaining a vast knowledge of equipment and techniques. Some of you may know Doug from Guitar Czar, and MARS Music where he was the Technology Department Manager.

After the experience of cutting his band's first album, he began his career as a producer in 1992. That's when he and his wife Shar moved to Utah and started Woodshar Productions. Several years later, they built a custom studio in it's current location of Taylorsville.

Shar was the lead singer and keyboardist for Hostage;the award winning cover/original band she and Doug founded and led for over a decade. She also ran WAR, a local musician's career support and advocacy group for a couple of years and still writes articles for local music magazines. The band "disbanded" when their daughter was born, and headlining a band took a back seat to being a mom.

Shar handles the business end of things as well as graphic design, web design, and promotional materials for the studio and its clients.
